- Thermonet 200W/M2 Heating Mat
Thermonet 200Watt mats are the ideal option for in screed applications providing easy installation and efficient storage heating in screed layers of 20-100mm.
In Screed heating will take longer to heat up, however the screed layer acts as a heat bank and holds the heat for longer, ensuring you don’t have added running costs. In Screed heating allows the tiler flexibility in creating falls in wet areas and can be installed under most floor coverings. It is recommended to insulate under floor heating to gain maximum performance from your system.

It is recommended to be fixed to insulation boards and is suitable for installation in screeds ranging from 20mm to 100mm.
TwistedTwin Cable On Full Self Adhesive Mesh
The unique stress free cable construction creates a longer lasting heating cable with zero electromagnetic field (Zero EMF). The self adhesive mesh speeds up installation by holding Thermonet matting to the substrate for easy self levelling and tile fixing.
Ideal For Areas With Limited Floor Space
Thermonet 200 Watt heating mats are perfect for areas with limited floor space. The strong heat output of the 200 watt ensures that the entire room is warmed.
Perfect For High Heat Loss Applications
The 200 Watt mats have a high heat output, making them ideal for spaces with a lot of heat loss. This can be decreased even more by putting a layer of insulation beneath the heating system.

Frequently Asked Questions
Screed Heating is intended to be implemented in screed layers ranging from 20 to 100mm thick.
Floor heating will take 2-4 hours to reach temperature in a normal Undertile build-up, and in Screed heating cable under a 25mm screed will likewise require 2-4 hours. However, for every additional 25mm of screed, the heat must be allowed to penetrate for an additional hour.
All of Thermogroup’s underfloor heating systems are appropriate for installation in the shower area if the shower floor is tiled (not a shower base) like the rest of the bathroom floor.
The cable features an IP68 rating for ingress protection and a continuous earth braid that runs the length of the cable. This guarantees that the cable is safe if it comes into contact with water and gives you peace of mind in the unlikely event that the installation is damaged. We recommend that you do not turn off the heating system in the shower area for added safety.
Underfloor heating cable must be coated with a cement-based substance and cannot be used in voids. As long as the shower seat is tiled to match the rest of the bathroom and all cables are covered with a cement-based flexible tile glue, installing heating on a shower seat is entirely safe.
If you’re wondering which floor heating system is best for you or are overwhelmed by the numerous options and possibilities available, Thermogroup’s online underfloor heating system selector tool can assist you in making the best choice. Our underfloor heating selector walks you through a simple four-step process to determine the best underfloor heating system for your specific application, as well as a list of all the products you’ll need to complete the job, so you can rest assured that you’ll have everything you need for installation. If you have any requirements that aren’t covered by the tool, please don’t hesitate to contact us to discuss them.
Yes, absolutely. Although the Thermonet 200W system is designed to be installed beneath a screed, it can also be installed directly beneath the tiles, just as the 150W system can. When positioned directly beneath the tiles, the 200W system will heat up faster than the 150W system due to the larger wattage. Use the 200W system directly beneath the tiles if you want a more on-demand system or if you have a significant heat loss application.
The wattage per square metre and application are the only differences between Thermonet 150W and Thermonet 200W. The Thermonet 150W is designed to be set directly beneath tile, in the tile adhesive, whereas the Thermonet 200W is designed to be installed beneath a screed since the increased wattage makes it more successful at heating through this screed. Please see our article on which system is more effective for a more detailed comparison, or use our Heating System Selector to figure out which system is best for your needs.
It is advised that the floor heating be installed over the waterproofing to ensure a completely waterproof substrate. An in screed system can be installed before the waterproofing in a screed application where the waterproofing is on top of the screed.
The electrician will need to connect mains electricity to the Thermostat position before roughing in for our Underfloor Heating and the controller. The electrician will then need to run two 20mm conduits from the thermostat position to the floor, one for the Underfloor Heating Cold Tail and the other for the Floor Sensor. Please download our Conduit Requirements document for more information and a graphic representation.
